Prevent over boost and make big boost with this easy to install boost fooler modification. Over boost codes at between 23-24 psi set by truck with performance modifications like a performance chip or performance injectors results in computer defueling and trouble codes at those higher boost levels. When the computer defuels, the injector performance is reduced while the computer is in defuel mode.
The boost fooler allows the truck to function normally but tricks the computer by only allowing it to see lower normal boost levels. This is a inexpensive and simple product that is a must have for any modified truck. It is installed inline with the truck’s map sensor and it’s preset to 22psi. When the boost levels reach this pressure the valve releases and the map sensor only sees the 22 psi of boost although the truck is producing more boost and power. No more trouble codes in the pcm and no more defueling.
- Plug and play design
- Simple installation
- Removes computer defueling codes in the PCM
- More top end power
- Less wasted fuel
1994-1997 OBS. Although you don’t set a service engine light, this kit will still prevent defueling at higher boost levels in modified applications able to hit higher boost levels. If you hit more than 22 psi of boost (usually with modified injectors) it can keep you from defueling.
